What does this mean?

Dear Lorraine,

Thank you for your request. This is a vessel probably made out of tin or a similar white metal alloy. The vessel is decorated with the zodiac signs. At the opening, we see that there was a lid which was closed with a bayonet catch. On the bottom, we see a hallmark which could be read as Fero or Tero and marks of another metal probably lead. From the stylistics and the technical details, this vessel was made around 1900.
An estimation would be between 10 to 20 AUD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.

With best regards,
Georg
