Hi John,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Authenticating items like autographs, coins, comic books, trading cards, etc, are a little beyond the scope of a photo appraisal because it requires those items to be carefully examined in person and/or in special conditions (lighting, material testing, etc) to identify if these were signed with an ink pen or by mechanical reproduction.
What I can tell you is that the signatures are similar to authenticated examples - and my values are based on the presumption that they are authentic and not forged - but there is the possibility that they are NOT original, particularly as there's no information as to where you acquired them other than in an auction.
Mearto offers authenticating services for an additional fee, or you can work with autograph grading services; either way, whomever authenticates these will need to know more information about where and when these photos were signed that the seller of these should be able to provide.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
Four Harry Potter Autographed Photos, early 21st Century, comprising:
One color photograph of Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, signed below by each; one black and white headshot of Emma Watson, autographed; one black and white headshot of Rupert Grint, autographed, and one black and white photograph of Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, autographed.
All 8 x 10 inches
CONDITION: These photos appear to be in generally good condition
PROVENANCE: Acquired at auction
$700-1,000 for the group*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, or questions/concerns, and thank you again for using Mearto.
