Hi Erica,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Émile Gallé (1846–1904) was a pioneering French glass artist and a central figure in the Art Nouveau movement. He is best known for his exquisite cameo glass, which involves layering colored glass and then carving or acid-etching it to reveal intricate designs, often inspired by nature. Gallé's work is characterized by its organic motifs, such as flowers, leaves, and landscapes, and his innovative techniques in glassmaking. After his death, his workshop continued producing glassware until 1936, with pieces made posthumously often marked with a star following the "Gallé" signature to denote their production after his passing
This vase was produced in some quantity and is not considered rare; ones of similar size and in good condition usually sell for between $500-800 at auction.
