The appraised work appears to be a watercolor painting executed by American artist Gary Akers (b. 1951). The painting depicts a small cottage on a beach with a boat tied at one side. Akers was born in Pikesville, Kentucky and became an artist in 1976. While known for his egg tempera painting, Akers is a highly accomplished watercolorist, and has received major awards from the American Watercolor Society. The estimate provided is based on comparables recently offered and sold at auction.
