Hall Groat (American, born 1932) is a successful artist whose work is noted for its beauty, use of light and shadow and evocative depictions of diverse subjects. He takes a classical approach to modern subjects, and he is well known for his portraits, landscapes, city scenes, and still lifes such as your painting. To this day, he has had several solo exhibitions, and has participated in several group shows throughout the country. Hall Groat Sr. is a well collected listed artist. His work can be found in private and public collections in America and internationally.

After checking several auction records of these last five years, the value of his work seems quite stable. The subject work’s size, the composition, condition (based on photographs and comments provided), as well as the artists’ current auction market were taken into consideration when determining the estimate.
