It is painted on canvas attached to a thin board. The painting measures 9" x 14" mounted in a golden frame measuring 16" x 20"
The painting was in my parents house in San Antonio, Texas. It came from my grandmothers estate.
This is an original vintage framed oil painting by the American female artist, Helen Ferne Slimp (1890 - 1995) who did live to the age of 105 and was married to an oil distributor Chester Slimp. They lived in a 1931 built 'castle' in San Antonio, Texas and she is purported to have been a teacher to Porfirio Salinas. The most sought after works are the paintings that depict Texas Bluebonnet flowers in bloom. Your 9"x14" work does not depict the blue blooms. The estimate is based on actual past recorded auction sales of comparables of this size by this artist. Retail prices may be higher and vary
Hi Kara. If you could, please call me directly at (979)820-1252. Thanks
Hi Clifford, I'm interested in this painting. Chester Slimp was my father's step-father and he lived on the Slimp family compound with Helen Ferne. What were you hoping to get for it?
