Sitting girl singing
3.5”
Local gift shop 1970s
Hi Elissa,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Hummel figures were incredibly popular among collectors in the 1950s-1990s and there are a lot of them on the market, unfortunately with less demand than supply so it is quite rare for individual pieces to be worth more than $5-50 each, at auction. The value can occasionally be increased if the piece retains its original factory packaging.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage MI Hummel painted porcelain collectible ""Little Girl Knitting & Singing Along With Her Feathered Friend" Figurine
made by W. Goebel, West Germany, bearing the "Stylized Bee / TMK-3" underglaze blue backstamp in use from 1960 to 1972
Depicting a young girl seated on the ground knitting, a songbird next to her, another on her hand, on a shaped base with underglaze blue mark.
3 1/2 inches tall
CONDITION: appears to be in generally good condition with some crackelure to glaze.
PROVENANCE: Acquired at a local gift shop
$30-50*
