Paper 1902
Family
This is an invitation to a viewing party during the August 9, 1902 Coronation of King Edward VII of England for when the Royal Procession would pass by the offices of the Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York. Their West End Branch offices, which is the destination of this invitation, were located at 60 St. James St in London. The Coronation was at Westminster Abbey. The Processional viewing address is approximately 8.9 miles from the location of the Coronation. In other words, this is not an invitation to the actual Coronation but one to be at a site specific location for when the Procession to Westminster was underway. A ticket to be in Westminster Abbey for the event recently sold for $199. Though this invitation has a historical attachment, they do not sell for as high as ones to the actual event on site. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
