Paper 32 by 23 signed and dated Henri de Toulouse
Willed to me From my Uncle Lawson Suttles
Thank your for submitting your item for appraisal and the additional information. The print in your possession is unfortunately a modern reproduction of the Lautrec lithograph. In your case it is an offset lithograph, the name is similar but the technique is totaly different. The offset technique was invented in 1904, ten years after Lautrec painted on the stone ( greek: lithos = stone and graphein = write). The original lithograph approx 130.5 x 95 cm in size would cost 10 to 30k depending on condition. The print in your possession is nicely framed, the estimate is based on similar decorative wall art offered or sold at auction. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you migth attach to it.
Thank you for the additional photos. Unfortunately the detail photos are blurred. If you happen to have a loupe / magnifying glass at hand - can you see little round dots?
Yes much of it made up of small dots..maybe i should try with different camera?
