This lovely little statue was made and signed by world-renowned artist Josefina Aguilar. You can read about Josefina Aguilar at her Wikipedia page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josefina_Aguilar and also here: https://www.davisart.com/blogs/schoolarts-room/visiting-josefina-aguilar-in-oaxaca/ This lovely little breastfeeding mother is 2" across at her base, 3" across the brim of her hat, and 7.5" tall at the topmost tip of the flowers. She weighs 10.8 ounces. She is charming, and vibrant, and a favorite in my collection of breastfeeding statues.

I acquired her from eBay to add to my collection 20 or so years ago.
Dear Anne,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be a ceramic figurine with 7.5
inches measurements in height. The artwork depicts a breastfeeding Mexican mother with a flower-decorated hat. This artwork was made by the Mexican artist JOSEFINA AGUILAR (B.1945) who mainly makes ceramic figurines with Mexican motifs.
Comparable objects were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and no severe damage is visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 150 to 300 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
Hi George! I am finally recouperated from my broken leg and ready to get more appraisals. Also, I would like to list everything in my collection for sale with you, is there a way to list those items that I previously had checked "no" for selling? Finally, I was certain I still had some appraisal credits left, however now I am not seeing them - do they expire?? Thank you! Anne
