The appraised work is an oil on canvas painting titled 'Las Vegas Loser' executed by American artist Paul Blaine Henrie (1932-1999) in 1977. The painting depicts a figure dressed as a clown standing in an abstracted landscape with a briefcase at one side and a cactus in the background. Henrie was born in Florida but settled in California, where he primarily lived and worked. He is primarily remembered for his coastal and seascape scenes of California vistas, but he also painted still lifes and urban, exotic locales during his travels to Mexico, Tahiti and across the United States.
