Numbered 220/300 boight are state auction.
Numbered and stamped limited print.
Hello Andrew,
Thank you for your appraisal inquiry with Mearto. I am very sorry for the couple hours delay on your items and I am very grateful for your patience. The item presented appears to be color lithograph designed by Marc Chagall (Russian-French, 1887 – 1985) titled "Le Cirque" (The Circus), from a series titled "Cirque." The print appears to be signed and numbered 220 of an edition of 300 in pen to the lower margin.
The original series consisted of 38 lithographs, each signed add number by Chagall in pencil. The original lithographs were published in two editions-- the first, an edition of 24, the second, an edition of 250. The lithographs were produce in different measurements. Because your print is editioned 300 and not one of the original known ediitons, I would suggest further authentication of the print. There are many reproductions and reprints of Chagall's lithographic works.
The estimate provided is based on recent auction estimates and results of comparable authentic lithographs from the "Cirque" series by Marc Chagall. Please note asking or dealer prices may vary and the estimate is contingent of the object's authenticity. Thank you and please take care.
