Murano red teardrop glass Verto Artistico
Not sure.
Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The Vetro Artistico® Murano" label is a trademark registered and protected by Italian law, managed by the Consortium for the Promotion of Artistic Glass of Murano. It guarantees that a glass item was handmade on Murano using traditional techniques passed down over centuries. It does not, however, identify the maker of this attractive sculpture; I would be surprised if it does not have any names etched in the bottom or along either the top or bottom edges.
Unattributed glass sculptures are not as appealing / valuable on the marketplace and related unattributed pieces usually sell between $`150 and $200 at auction
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage cranberry cased glass teadrop sculpture
unattributed maker, made in Murano, Venice, late 20th Century
Of circular section and asymmetrical teardrop form and flat bottom, bearing an original factory label.
Approximately 8 inches
CONDITION: This appears to be in good condition
PROVENANCE: Inherited
$150-200*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, or questions/concerns, and thank you again for using Mearto.

Hi Jennifer,
I didn't want to let this appraisal linger so I've appraised it based on the assumption that it's about 8 inches tall. If it's more than 10 inches tall, or less than 6 inches tall, please let me know as that would impact it's value. Also...if you can find a name or signature *somewhere* on this that might also warrant re-evaluating.
Thanks very much,
Delia
It is a decorative sculpture (no opening for a vase) and about eight inches tall. I'm at work but pretty sure it's eight inches tall. I will confirm later.
