The signature on it Romberg that is all I can read. There is a stamped number on back 88175. The frame is 20x24. The picture looks like a convent with three females in white dresses. Two of the females are together and the other is standing alone. From my research it looks to be a Walter Romberg collection. I think this because of the framing is the same from his other paintings I found online. My mother picked this painting up at a yard sale when I was 13, I am now 53.

The appraised work is a 20th century oil on canvas painting executed by Walter Romberg (German, 1898-1973), signed at lower right. Not much is known about the artist, but it appears he routinely painted landscapes, rural and more urban scenes throughout Germany, including monasteries and possibly convents, of which the appraised work might be an example. Romberg also worked as a printmaker, creating several etchings of German churches, castles, and cityscapes. The estimate provided is based on comparables recently offered and sold at auction. In many cases, pricing for similar examples available on the primary (retail) market vary, and are often higher than secondary (auction) market examples.
