Original oil painting signed Eakins 1887. Title: Gertrude Provenance: Painting was acquired for $3,500 from a private estate sale 2014. The estate caught fire and the remaining items had to be sold. The painting originally had smoke and ash visible, with smell of fire. Please see photo of reverse side for details (no damage to the front). Size: Height 25.5 inch; Length 22.5 inch; Depth 1.75 inch. Painting has been professionally stored and always handled with white gloves (painting is still in original condition from 2014, never restored or tampered with). The canvas has some visible signs of cracking due to age but overall, decent. The painting has never been professionally authenticated and being sold as is (attributed to or in the manner of Thomas Eakins).

I have handled (researched, sold, appraised) American art for 20+ years, including some works that had been authenticated to have been by Eakins and in my opinion, this is not by him.
Assuming that this is "manner of" Eakins, it would be catalogued as follows:
