This is a painting from Sweden. It is actually from 1954, not 1854. The framing, the style, the hardware utilized are all 20th century and definitely not 19th century. The homestead portrayed is the property of August Bengtsson (note, not Bergtsson) in Laxviken, Sweden. The signature is illegible and the style of work is primitive, naive. The estimate is based on actual auction sales of comparables.
