Painting
unknown
Dear customer,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry again and I hope you are well.
The presented object appears to be a painting made in oil or acrylic paint canvas with the unknown measurements. The painting depicts Mary with Christ and Elisabeth with her son John the Baptist. This painting appears to be made in Italy or strongly influenced by North Italian art of the 17th century. The depiction of that fabric and the anatomy are a hint that this artist was a follower and not one of the elite artists of his time. This painting was probably made around 1700.
This piece is in bad condition and there is serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 1000 to 2500 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
Dear customer,
Thank you very much for your compliment. Usually the restoration highers the estimate about the amount of the restoration. Sadly this depends really on the abilities of the restorer because one crack goes through the head of Mary which is a central person. I hope I answered your question. May I ask you what your name is in Latin letters? I don't trust the translation program in this not totally and don't want to be inpolite by naming you wrongly.
With kind regards,
Georg
