Dishes, bowls, sherbet/dessert
Possible Italian origin Got off a reseller
Hi Dean,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, I need to know an exact piece count (how many / what kind of plates, bowls, etc).
Many thanks in advance,
Delia
For selling purposes, I think the importance would be of what origin/make/brand or description would be important. I am clueless but I like the presentation. One dish does not have the coloring on it.
Yes, the colored decoration is really nice. This is probably American, Depression-era but could also have been made in Italy so I'll be somewhat vague as to area of manufacture. Several companies were making it so without a maker's mark its hard to know for sure. This would most likely have been available in many more place settings so at only 29 pieces this is incomplete, with an auction estimate of approximately $3-5 per piece, and would be cataloged as:
A vintage pressed and partial colored glass part-dinner service
American or European, circa 1930s
comprising:
8 large plates
4 medium sized plates
4 small plates
3 bowls
8 sherbet cups
2 footed plates
PROVENANCE: acquired at auction
$90-120*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
8 of the largest dishes, 4 smaller, 4 smallest dishes; 3 bowls, 2 serving pieces/pedestals, and 8 sherberts.
