A Georgian style carved mahogany lady's desk and bookcase
Made by Hampton and Sons, London, In the Chinese taste, early 20th Century
In two sections, the upper a glazed (glass) bookcase with arched pitch pediment with pierced fret over a case fitted with hinged doors and blind fret decoration to the frame, the lower section with a slant-lid desk with blind fretwork decoration opening to a divided interior, over a long drawer with blind-fretwork facade, all raised on square tapering legs with pierced returns, joined by a demi-shelf stretcher.
82 inches high, 33 inches wide, 19 inches deep
CONDITION: Client warrants the condition to be with "some grill work expertly repaired and a slightly bowed writing drop down board otherwise in good condition."
