Secretary with top piece 7-8 feet high
NY
This is an antique 19th century, Victorian era, about 1830 - 1840, secretary desk that is done in a transitional style combining Biedermeier and American Empire. The body is veneered and the graining is part of the aesthetic decoration as well the carved Dutch rippling elements around the borders. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
I added two more that I have- I will look for others but I am not at the house where the secretary is located Do the best you can because I wont be near the secretary until the end of May
Please add images of a corner of a drawer to show the method of joinery.
