Dear Christi,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please upload a few images of any marks on the back of the spoon. I am curious about the material whether it is gilded silver or something else.
Thanks
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
It is a beautiful set of spoons with amber. Such teaspoons are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
I believe the material to be gilded brass or copper and the handles set with cut amber. The spoons were probably made as a kind of souvenir spoons in the middle of the 20th century. Due the fact that the material is not very valuable the appraisal of the spoons is more of a sentimental kind than financial value.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online silver and miscellaneous auction, where I believe the spoons has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the spoons. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
Thank you
Thank You so much. I am interested in selling them, I have so many more pieces of Amber and artifacts that I need to have appraised also. Are you allowed to recommend the sites needed for selling the spoon set?
Your spoons will be presented for several auction houses, but they tend only to be interested in items worth more than $1000. I would recommend eBay for these kinds of items because of the extended amount of buyers on the platform.
Kind regards
They are a yellow gold color not silver with a twisted handle and etching. Hope these pictures help more
