Dear Mick,
Thank you for your help and patience.
The presented object appears to be a painting made in oil or acrylic paint on canvas with 28 x 35 cm measurements. The painting depicts a farmhouse or barn and is signed in the lower right corner. This artwork was made in the second half of the 20th century by the artist Søren Edsberg who was mainly active around the 1970s.
Comparable objects were rarely recently offered and hammered down partly under 200 USD on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and no severe damage is visible in the images.
A fair market estimation would be between 200 to 400 USD.
This estimate is based on recently recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
Dear Mick,
Thank you for your message. This could have many reasons. He was probably sold on the primary art market through galleries and art dealers. A fair market value is orientated on reached hammer prices of auctions that mirror quite a price potential.
With kind regards,
George
Yes understood so the value at its hammer prices in 1976 is less than todays current valuation you have recently given.
Unless I’m mistaken
Dear Mick,
thank you for your email. Sadly the art market has sometimes strong changes.
With kind regards,
George
Why do you think it has gone down in value?
