56 pieces
Not much
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry and the additional information
It is a beautiful flatware set. Such antique and vintage silver flatware sets are being offered at auction on a regular basis.
The pattern and design of the set is lovely and very detailed. The flatware is made of sterlingsilver and was made in the 1930s. The pattern looks like the Southern rose however the photos are not that clear with regards to the pattern. The fact that the set comprises of 56 pieces is very good and useful for a potential buyer or dealer. The more parts the better. And the original box adds to the value. The flatware bears some signs of use and the engraving on the back of the handles unfortunately decreases the value as a potential buyer or dealer would want to remove these engravings.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online silver auction, where I believe the flatware has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the flatware. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.
