He was alive. Is it possibly a stamp or the real thing. Thank you, Steve.
18”x 30”
Dear Steve,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. My sincere apologies for the delay with the appraisal.
The presented object appears to be an offset print on paper with 20 x 18 inches measurements. The painting depicts a harbor scene and appears to be signed by THOMAS MORAN (PA/CA, 1837-1926). This artwork was made in the second half of the 20th ct.
Comparable objects were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is medium to bad condition and no severe damage is visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 30 to 60 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
Gregory
Dear Steve,
thank you for your message. Sadly I am sure that the signature is also printed with the image. To be sure I recommend you to take a magnifier glass and have a "closer" look. Offset prints have this typical dot or bean-shaped structure.
With kind regards,
Gregory
It appears you believe this is signed by artist, not in the offset, not a signature stamp. Dose you’re estimate value reflect Thomas Moran signature? Thankfully yours, Steve.
