This Tre Fuochi Murano apertif set was purchased by my mother, I believe at least 40 years ago. Blue glass with gold and hand painted flowers.
The decanter is about 9 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches in diameter . The apéritif glasses are about 3 1/2 inches tall with a 1 inch base.
Hi Christine,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Tre Fuochi Murano is a prestigious glassworks company located on the Venetian island of Murano, renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship. Established in 1930, it specializes in creating high-quality glass art, including intricate chandeliers, sculptures, and decorative pieces. The name "Tre Fuochi," meaning "Three Fires," symbolizes the traditional glass-blowing techniques passed down through generations. Their work blends traditional methods with contemporary designs, maintaining Murano’s legacy of artistic excellence in glassmaking.
Apéritif and other decanter sets were a popular production of the company and there are several dozen examples of sets of varying size and color that have been auctioned in recent years. The deep blue cobalt color of yours pairs beautifully with the gilt elements and as a small set, it's truly lovely.
The market, unfortunately, doesn't always reflect similar appeal in such tastes; a gilt ruby decanter set with decanter, 5 goblets and two plates failed to sell with an estimate of $800-1,000 and an opening bid of just $80 (https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/179276812_tre-fuochi-venetian-murano-glass-ruby-red-goblets-and-pitcher-8-pc-set). Others of small size have sold for about $50 each, making this set worth $300-500.
