I have two antique silver boxes I would like valued. Both are unmarked, hand-crafted pieces with repoussé and chased decoration, possibly of Nepalese, Tibetan, or North Indian origin. Item 1 – Silver & Parcel-Gilt Box with Mythical Beast (Snow Lion) • Oval silver lidded box with parcel gilding. • Lid decorated with a repoussé mythical beast, possibly a Snow Lion, surrounded by floral scrollwork. • Sides decorated with chased floral patterns. • Dimensions: approx. 5 in. (length) × 3.5 in. (width) × 2.5 in. (height). • Weight: 244.52 grams. • Unmarked (no hallmarks). • Condition: Good, with wear to gilding on raised areas consistent with age. Item 2 – Large Hexagonal Silver Floral Box • Hexagonal lidded box with domed cover. • Each side measures approx. 4 × 4 in. (10 × 10 cm); lid height approx. 1.5 in. (4 cm). • Decorated with chased floral and lattice motifs, with a central rosette medallion on the lid. • Interior plain, hand-hammered. • Unmarked (no hallmarks). • Condition: Good, with minor wear and tarnish, retains patina. Both pieces were acquired through family and may date to the late 19th – early 20th century. I would greatly appreciate your expertise in confirming their origin, dating, and value.
