I would like to see if I can find out the artist and age of this painting
Was inherited from my grandmother whose heritage is German
Dear Meghan,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. My sincere apologies for the delay with the apprisal.
The presented object appears to be a mid-sized lithograph in color print with unknown measurements. The print was made after a painting that depicts the portrait of a British lady. The original painting was probably made in the 18th century by Joshua Reynolds or Thomas Gainsborough. Such prints were common in the late 19th and first half of the 20th century.
This piece is in bad condition and there is a color loss because of light damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 20 to 40 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
