New York (family)
This is an antique, early 20th century, about 1900 - 1920, Jacobean Revival style 3-over-2 drawer chest on stand done in oak wood. The geometric forms on the face of the drawers is influenced by the 'Commonwealth' style during the middle Jacobean period in the 17th century. These geometric forms were also seen on Dutch Renaissance era furniture too. The Revival style furniture was a very popular design for decor in homes in the beginning of the 20th century, and there is a lot of this currently available on the market. Your chest on stand would have been part of a matching set. This one is particularly well-built with proper dovetailing instead of machine cut finger joinery. The drawer locks were made in the USA by Eagle Lock Co. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
Excellent. Thank you for the images of the corner of the drawer to show the joinery. If you could also add a photo of the lock mechanisms inside the drawer that would be very helpful too
never noticed until now there writing on the lock. helpful I hope.
did you receive last image?
Yes, thank you for the image of the lock. I'm not able to zoom or enlarge pics. Please add a clear, extreme close up of the words stamped on the lock.
If I can see a close-up of the stamp on the lock, which states a Made in XXXX that will help with origin and then I can complete the assessment for you.
Hope this work.
Uploaded two more pictures. Hope this helps. thanks
