Old thick paper- discolored. Looks like watercolor. Black and white.
Do not know
Dear Jennifer,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. The presented object appears to be watercolor on paper with unknown measurements. The drawing depicts a sitting lady and was not signed by the artist. This drawing was made in the middle of the 20th century by an unknown artist.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
An estimation would be between 20 to 40 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
Dear Jennifer,
I am very sorry for that mistake. Obviously, we have some technical problems with the interface. Which image shows the signature when I may ask?
With kind regards,
Georg
The bottom of the 2nd picture. It is also visible on the first picture :)
Dear Jennifer,
Thank you for the hint. Sadly there is no additional information regarding the biography given to the name J. Ames. The quality of the drawing is sadly not connected to the well-known artist Joseph Alexander AMES (1816-1872), so this remains unidentified.
With kind regards,
Georg
Thank you very much. In the appraisal you said that it is not signed. I submitted a picture of the bottom right hand corner - looks like I. Ames. Is that not the artist signature?
