Unknown maker. Unknown material. Probably was a card table that got cut in half. It´s in regular/good condition, marquetry needs some restoring.

Hi Blanca,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
I agree with your opinion that this was probably once a card table that would have had another half of the top that matched the marquetry and inlay. It's a shame it lost the other leaf but is a handsome table nevertheless.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A Neoclassical style marquetry inlaid mahogany console table
English or European, late 19th or early 20th Century
Of rectangular form with inset notched front corners, the top with foliate marquetry banding, the corresponding frame with reeding and floral oval inlaid panels, raised on four square tapering line-inlaid legs. Presumably unmarked.
70 cm (27-1/2 inches) high; 86 cm (33-7/8 inches) wide, 37 cm (14-1/2 inches) deep
CONDITION: Lacking original second leaf to the top, client advises some restoration needed to the marquetry.
PROVENANCE: Acquired in a second-hand store
$ 500-700*
