been in the family for generations
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a chinese bowenite carving of a dancing lady. According to the original box the figurine was made in the People´s Republic of China, therefore after 1949. Bowenite is also called "Suzhou jade" for marketing reasons, but is in fact not genuine jade. The estimate is based on similar sold at auction. "Asking prices" in the trade can be higher and vary. The sentimental value it might represent to you will be higher than the current market value.
Thank you for uploading the photo. Unfortunately no further information on the manufacturer to be gained. The estimate is correct as it is.
