Dear Alejandro,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be a wooden sculpture with measurements of 72 cm in height. The sculpture was made out of oak wood and was probably never painted. Such oak wood sculptures were typical for the Lower Rhine region and the Netherlands around the city of Utrecht. Stylistically this Madonna was made around 1500 or 1530. There is a possibility that this is a later copy of the 19th or 20th century. Especially the face does not fit the style of the late gothic and the wood would be in another condition. Such sculptures were scalloped to prevent cracks from the drying process.
Works by this artist were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 2.000 to 4.000 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
