What does this mean?

Hello Filip,

I’m glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal request,

Considering the photographs, overall pattern, painting quality and the composition,
I concluded that this is a modern reproduction of a possibly 17th Century porcelain bowl. First of all, it is very hard to detect authentic pieces from the 17th century Ming dynasty which look like your piece. It was not a usual or common type at that time. Ming dynasty is of course mostly known for their blanc-blu pieces. I found couple of authenticated examples anyways but never saw this colour tone. Usually pieces are rather greener than this one, this kind of glaze on terracota obviously created a modern Eosin alike composition. I did not find any pieces dating to the time with such a look.

Also the wares on the exterior decoration seems like they were done on purpose at some point. Normally a ware accures when another surface touches the exterior detail may times over the time and the trace of it is not strictly clear but it is rather evenly distributed. I think it's the opposite in your case. The exterior decorations of the original wares tends to be more clear looking than this ones, might indicate a lower quality of work. Probably a modern piece dating 1990-2000.

Dimensions: 21 Centimeters of diameter.

Condition: Fair condtion with some ware.

Provenance: Unknown.
