Signed “Stane”
I purchased this from an Antique shop in Oregon on 2016- I saw CB online that a woman had one similar who lived in Canada. I saw no appraisal for her item.
Dear Suzanne,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
This is a European city view probably executed towards the end of the 1950s. It measures 28 1/2 (h) x 40 1/2 (w) inches. It is signed on the lower left "Stane". The condition is excellent overall.
Unfortunately, after searching this artist, I am sorry to say that I could not find any similar artist's signature in our records. It seems to me that an obscure painter has executed the work that you own.
Therefore, this is reflected in the estimate in red that appears above. The subject work's size and composition were also taken into consideration when determining these figures.
Best regards,
Karine
Dear Suzanne,
Thank you for your last message.
As this artist work has never been sold on the auction market before, the figures above correspond to similar works from this particular period executed by artists who are unrecognised on the auction market. Also, please note that once pieces bought at auction are in galleries, they are usually a minimum of two to three times the price paid at auction.
Do not hesitate to contact me should you have any further queries, and I will gladly help.
Best regards,
Karine
I Saw one similar online from a woman in Canada. This is how I found your site-
I also have a vendor who has a Stane. He said it was worth $3000
