What does this mean?

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a chinese lidded jar in the style of the republic era porcelain, but patinated to look older than it is. 1970s would be a perfect match. The estimate is based on similar offered or sold at auction.

This makes no sense are you stating that because it has been in the family since the 1970's that it was made in the 70's this is the same information you are stating for other pieces that you know have been in the family since then .
