There are hundreds of companies in Dafen, China were you can order identical reproductions for less than 100 USD including shipping. The ornate modern gesso frame must have been rather expensive. The estimate is based on similar home decor art offered or sold at auction. Retail prices are ususally higher and can vary.
Well, yes. Basically the frame is of a higher value than the chinese copy. You can order identical in the "painting village" Dafen for very little money rolled up. Fixing it to the stretcher plus the frame is the more expensive part.
