Asian statue
My mom got it from a store that sold chinese art work
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal, this appears to be a modern chinese slip cast porcelain statue of the Guanyin, depicted above the waves with a carp and a dragon at the base, hand painted and partly gilt, marked "5" at the base. Such statues are popular all over China, the Guanyin is the chinese version of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, the buddha of compassion.
The estimate is based on similar statues offered or sold at auction. "Asking prices" in the trade can be higher and vary. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to it.
