Hi Robert,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Most appraisers that are presented with a selection such as this would separate out the solid silver pieces (those without handles made of bone, horn, mother-of-pearl or filled metal) and weigh those for a base weight, then add in the remaining pieces.
Without being able to weigh this, or have an accurate piece count, this has a conservative fair-market value of $100-150.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An assorted miscellaneous group of sterling silver and silverplate flatware and serving utensils, 19th/20th Century, including:
5 Meriden dinner knives with weighted handles
12 sterling dinner forks
12 sterling tea spoons
8 sterling soup spoons
1 ladle
1 cake server
1 Wm Rogers spoon
Other spoons,
serving pieces (W. Moir; Stanwood; J.M. Ford; Wilcox silver plate)
CONDITION: These pieces appear to be in generally good condition, with evidence of wear including tarnishing.
PROVENANCE: Inherited
$100-150 for the group*
