James Gildea and John Walker produced earthenware and porcelain, operating at the Dale Hall Works in Longport, Burslem, Staffordshire, from 1881 to 1885. Gildea & Walker’s Chinoiserie patterns are distinguished by their artistic blending of Eastern-inspired imagery with Western decorative tastes. While heavily influenced by Japanese art (Japonisme), many of their patterns also reflect fantasy-driven Chinese themes—part of a broader Victorian fascination with the Orient. In 1885 James Gildea continued the business alone.

Gildea Walker porcelain services typically bring between $1 and $2 PER PIECE when incomplete sets come to auction (complete sets, where there are the same and even number of pieces do a bit better, but usually only bringing between $2 and $3 per piece).
