This is a charming if folky replica of Edgar Degas' "Little Dancer," which was cast in multiple editions and toured, reaching the masses.
I'm guessing this is plaster - if that's not correct, let me know what it's made of and I'll update this appraisal as necessary.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
American or English, late 19th/early 20th Century

The dancer with her right leg extended, on a square plaster base on a square wooden plinth. Unmarked
8 inches high, width of dress: 4 inches.
CONDITION: This sculpture appears to be in good condition; minor chip losses.
PROVENANCE: Inherited
