A Chinese jade inlaided picture into a wood background.
A friend, who died, gave it to me many years ago. Cleaning out my house and found it stored away. Wondered if it was worth anything>
Dear McClelland,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you check if there is anything written on the back?
Thanks
This is an inlaid stone on wood plaque with traditional Chinese subject matter. Two butterflies linger over a trio of scholars. Each holds an object related to Chinese literati traditions: a staff, scroll, and a peach. There is rich detail in the different stones’ surfaces.
There is some damage to the surface of the wood, which will affect the value.
The Fair Market Value of this piece is between $100 and $150.
I have added links below to some auction results of items like yours. Some are more or less detailed and have more or less damage.

Second look found a small 1/4 inch round sticker, with a printed '91' on it, down in a corner.
Hm. I'm guessing that's a serial number. It doesn't give me any more to go on with value though. I feel confident about the comparisons I found.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
