For estimation, we have to differentiate the different markets of the art market. You as a private person have to use the secondary auction art market which is an open market. Contemporary art pieces are usually sold on the closed first market of the galleries. Galleries usually have very high asking prices which can not be reached again when you have to sell this artwork on the secondary auction market. Sadly this artwork would be estimated in the named price rank for this secondary market.
