Hi Rachel,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Noritake was one of the most popular names for dinnerware in the mid 20th Century; not only was it handsome and serviceable but it was also comparatively affordable. Increasingly few people today, however, entertain in such a formal way and the market is saturated with services of varying sizes, colors, etc.
Noritake’s “Edenrose” is distinctive because it blends classic European floral elegance with mid-20th-century mass-production quality—making it both decorative and widely accessible. The pattern was issued in 1962; the Nippon Toki "N" backstamp was one in use from 1953 so this service could have been made anytime from 1962 on.
We are at a point where all the services that were purchased in the 1950s-70s are coming to market. Because there is less demand than supply, fair-market / auction prices for Noritake remain low, typically bringing about $3-5 PER PIECE even in like-new condition (though retailers such as Replacements ask a much higher per-piece retail price).
If this service were to be offered at auction, based on recent prices, I would expect this service to sell for between $300 and $500.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
