Handmade in Isfahan, Iran – a well-known Persian rug weaving center recognized for high-quality, fine-weave carpets. Material: Pile: High-quality wool with potential silk highlights (requires confirmation). Foundation: Likely cotton, as commonly found in traditional Isfahan rugs. Knot Density: Appears to be medium to high KPSI (exact count unknown but estimated between 200-400 knots per square inch). Design & Colors: Classic Persian medallion design, featuring floral and vine motifs. Dominant colors: Deep red (field), navy blue, ivory, and beige accents. Traditional Isfahan-style intricate pattern with detailed symmetrical elements. Condition: Excellent overall condition – No visible holes, major stains, or tears. Pile remains even and full with no significant wear. Fringes intact and edges in good shape. Estimated Age: Likely 40–50 years old based on design and materials Additional Notes: The rug was hand-knotted, likely taking a skilled artisan over a year to make, according to a dealer I showed it to. Was exported to Europe at some point and sold in Palermo, Italy. Previously reviewed by a Persian rug dealer who confirmed it was handmade in Isfahan. Seeking appraisal to determine market value and authenticity.
