No known history other than it was owned by a man who ran international christian missions, with work in asia and other countries.
Hello Lester,
I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal,
Considering the photographs, overall pattern, carving quality and the colours, I concluded that this is a Hand Carved Miniature Jade Vase made for decorative purposes, dating back to the period between 1920-1940. The carved decorations of the piece are typical to last years of the early and the first years of the early mid 20th century. The piece appears to have floral motifs alongside main dragon motifs carved on it. The carving quality is average for the period and below average when compared to 19th century or earlier pieces. The Jade of this colour is on of the most common types of Jade in nature. The piece is likely polished by the artits or a previous owner. Appears to be in good condition without any chips or cracks. Hand carved.
Entirely hand carved.
Dimensions: Miniature
Condition: In good condition without any chips or cracks.
Provenance: It was previously owned by a man wro ran Christian missions in Asia.
