The presented object appears to be a painting made in oil paint on canvas with the measurements of 1,8 x 2,5 m. The painting depicts a battle scene between cavalry troops. Sadly no further information regarding the biography of this artist is mentioned in reference books or similar databases.

Unfortunately I will only have access to the painting in 6 weeks when my parents return

The signature says James E Marshal, and the year 1892. I think he was a Dutch painter
