The dinner service was made by Noritake, probably in the 1970s. It was purchased new in 1993 is used but is in excellent condition (no chips or scratches). The 8 (10.5-inch) dinner plates don't fit into the cabinet, so there is a separate picture. The Noritake stamp is on the back of each item.
Too many different items to give. See main picture. They are a set.
Hi Neil,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Noritake was one of the most popular names for dinnerware in the mid 20th Century; not only was it handsome and serviceable but it was also comparatively affordable. Increasingly few people today, however, entertain in such a formal way and the market is saturated with services of varying sizes, colors, etc. Because there is less demand than supply, fair-market / auction prices for Noritake remain low, typically bringing $4-8 PER PIECE.
While you have a relatively small service with few serving pieces (platters, tureens, serving bowls, etc), the fact that you have the same (and even) number of place pieces (plates, bowls, cups), benefits its value significantly, which I've appraised at about $6-9/piece.
The name Ho‑Oh refers to the mythical phoenix‑like bird often depicted in Asian art that is featured prominently in this pattern.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A near vintage 62-piece Noritake Ivory China Blue and White Dinner & Tea Service for 8
in the Ho-Oh pattern, bearing the "Noritake N Ivory China" mark in use from 1962, circa 1993, comprising:
8 Dinner plates (10-1/2 inches diameter)
8 Luncheon or Salad Plates (8-1/4 inches)
8 Bread & Butter Plates (6-1/4 inches)
8 Soup bowls (7-1/2 inches)
8 Dessert or Fruit bowls (5-1/2 inches)
8 Cups with 8 Saucers
1 Gravy bowl
2 Large Vegetable bowls
1 Teapot
1 Covered Sugar bowl
1 Cream Pitcher
1 16-inch serving platter
CONDITION: This service appears to be in good condition
PROVENANCE: Purchased new in 1993
$400-600 (£300-450) for the group*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, or questions/concerns, and thank you again for using Mearto.

BTW Delia, are you in the UK or USA?
Sorry. I see I made a mistake in the description heading as there is an 8 piece Tea service (not 4 piece). Could you change it for me please?
Good morning, Neil,
I'm in the US but there's little difference in the values whether acquired in the US or UK, though I have shown values in both dollars and pounds.
I've updated the header so it shows a tea service for 8 not 4.
Let me know if you have questions; otherwise, have a great day and thanks again for using Mearto.
Hi Delia
Thank you very much for that valuation. After reading your comments, apparently, I omitted a 16-inch serving platter from my list as it was stored in a different place. I don't suppose it makes too much difference to the valuation, and, if it's not asking too much, perhaps you could relook at the valuation.
Just as a matter of interest, an American company, Mount Cuba Treasures (owner Lilly Goldberg, Delaware), is advertising on Etsy UK 4 dinner plates of this set for a price of £70.37 with shipping to the UK of £96.14, which gave me a rather inflated view of the possible price of my set. Please do not in any way read into this comment that I am in any way dissatisfied with your valuation, because I am totally satisfied with your integrity as a valuator.
Once again, thank you so much, and if you are unable to revalue to include this dinner platter, I fully understand that you have already done the job with the information supplied.
Best regards
Neil
Hi Neil,
I've added the serving platter to the listing and upgraded the value a bit since everyone likes a serving platter.
While I don't know the Etsy seller, I know the market for Noritake in the US is a little softer than the same market in the UK so I think my valuation is good.
Let me know if you still require any amendments, otherwise, thanks again for using Mearto and have a great evening.
Delia
Thank you, Delia, for updating your valuation for me.
Best regards
Neil
