Dear Scott,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. My sincere apologies for the delay with the apprisal.
The presented object appears to be a painting made in oil or acrylic paint on canvas with the measurements of 3 x 3 feet. The painting depicts a landscape with a path in the middle and trees to the left and right. It is signed illegible but some additional information is mentioned on the frame with a felt tip pen. First the artist "Tony Wolff" names the title of this painting "Lost Preussen". This localized this motif in the region of Prussia which was after the Treaty of Potsdam under Polish administration after the end of the WWII. Also, we see the price of 265,- Deutsche Mark and the dating (19)62. Sadly no painting of an artist with the name Tony Wolf or Thomas Wolf, which would be the German version of Tony, is trackable in International or German reference books and auction result databases.
Works by this artist were recently not offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 200 to 400 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
