a small oil painting I’ve inherited from my grandfather’s family. He was Morton Arnold Aldrich of New Orleans Louisiana. He founded the original school of business at Tulane University in the 1950. Coastal Oil painting Frame measures 22”w. 18”h Canvas painting itself measures exactly 16”w 12”h Regarding the signature on the rear upper right. It reads something like “ J… ….whyst ". Can’t make it out since it appears smudged. There’s also a price written vertically that reads as “ $150.00 “. There is a raised texture of the dried oil paint on the canvas board that gives movement of the ocean waves. Please let me know if there’s any significant value and your appraisal fee quote.. I’m interested in selling it. I’m located in Columbus, Ohio USA.

Dear Graham,
Thank you for your request. Please upload focused and detailed images. Thank you.
With kind regards,

Dear Graham,
Thank you for the additional images and your patience. The presented object is a painting made with oil paint on cardboard with the measurements of 12 x 15 inches. It depicts a coast-line with cliffs and heavy waves. The painting is vague signed and a note on the reverse side names the price of 150 USD. The note on the reverse side is more probable the title. Sadly it is also not clearly readable. The technical details of the painting itself suppose an not academical educated artist which made this painting probably in the third quarter of the 20th century.
An estimation would be between 70 to 150 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With best regards,
Georg
Dear Georg, removed poor photos and retook 24 of them with the best lighting I have. Used an iPhone X. Thanks. Graham
