Mountain Scene, oil by Prof. Arnegger, Vienna Framed, W - 44”, H - 32 1/2” Excellent condition
My parents owned it.
The appraised work appears to be an oil on canvas painting executed by Austrian painter Alois Arnegger (1879-1963). The painting depicts a wintertide mountainous landscape with a small structure in the foreground, flanked by greenery and snow-capped mountains in the background. Arnegger was most-known for his romantic landscapes. He was born in Vienna and studied under several notable painters, such as Robert Russ, at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. The estimate provided is based on comparables recently offered and sold at auction. The appraised work's size, composition, medium and condition (based on images provided), as well as the artist's current auction market were taken into consideration when determining the estimate. In many cases, pricing for similar examples available on the primary (retail) market vary, and are often higher than secondary (auction) market examples.
Thank you very much. How would I go about selling this painting?
